Oh sure, on laminated card it says &#8220;fish and chips&#8217;, or some variation thereof, but Foo will tell you that the resulting order will be vast and teeming with food, and that even a man with his constitution would find it hard to finish a plate (he did. Almost) without sinking like a chip-logged supertanker. With a turn out of 7 fans (not bad for Friday the 13th)<\/span><span lang=\"EN-NZ\">, there was enough conversation to keep us afloat. Topics included;<\/span><\/font><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\" style=\"margin-top: 0cm\">\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">A little on series 3 but oddly enough not too much. <\/font><\/span><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">While Tim loved <em>Last of the Time Lords,<\/em> Foo had felt that the episode let things down with the chanting of \u2018Doctor\u2019 and Alden preferred it to <em>The Sound of Drums<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aldenbates.com\/archives\/2007\/07\/05\/doctor_who_series_3_episodes_10_13.html#more\">which he considered a bit too much running around<\/a><em> .<\/em> Other opinions&#8230; well, Jamas has <a href=\"http:\/\/jamasenright.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/dw-episode-313.html\">his views<\/a> here, and Peter opted out to let Jono speak for <em>Zeus Plug. <\/em><\/font><\/span><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">Foo had pretty much reached the conclusion that series three is his favourite even though it has three of the potentially worst episodes of the new series to contend with.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">Soo&#8230; Who\u2019s going to buy <em>Timelash<\/em> when it comes out? Much shuffling of feet and looking away followed. We predict that at least two present will cave in.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">iPods and iPhones \u2013 yeah, they\u2019re great but people do seem to go gaga over something that\u2019s not really anything new.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">Slight lamentation of no <em>Zeus Blog<\/em> to wipe up beer and tears (well blogs don&#8217;t tend to be that absorbent, Foo &#8211; Ed)<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><em><span lang=\"EN-NZ\">The Sarah Jane Adventures<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"> may be airing in September but are there going to be any returning monsters\u2026there may be but we will only know in two months time. Foo had heard that a previous new series monster may give Sarah something to contend with\u2026<br \/>\n<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">Catherine Tate returning to <em>Doctor Who <\/em>(see: <em>Timelash<\/em>)<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">The appearance of <span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">Kelly (of Random Static) and friend Annie. Not a lot of faction Paradox gossip (for obvious reasons), but some d<\/font><\/span>iscussion of the next years Sci-Fi con which will have Kate Orman and Jon Blum as guests<br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">And finally the flicks &#8211; namely the <em>Transformers<\/em> movie \u2013 had both good bits and bad bits, it was a bit of fun but not a masterpiece \u2013 a very mediocre movie. <\/font><\/span><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">General disapproval of <em>Fantastic Four<\/em> with far too much focus on the Invisible Woman\u2019s impending wedding, and <\/font><\/span><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\">I think everyone was looking forward to the <em>Simpsons<\/em> movie and a couple the next <em>Harry Potter<\/em> as well.<\/font><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\">\u00a0<font face=\"Arial\">Er, and that&#8217;s it!<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; tab-stops: list 36.0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-NZ\"><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>Foo, PA<\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0 Let it be put on record, as suggested by Mister Tim Beverstock, that JJ Murphy&#8217;s outdo themselves with their bar menu.
