I was underwhelmed by The Christmas Invasion, thought Runaway Bride was better than TCI but still not that great and when watching VOTD for a review in TSV (a review I never completed, but that’s another story) I thought it was good but the ending was lame.

While I wouldn’t go as far as to say the other Christmas Specials were a bunch of turkeys, The Next Doctor doesn’t have the most difficult competition. Ergo, best special yet.

Then again, I do suffer from multiview syndrome – those episodes I see the most I like the most. Hence my favourites all seem to be the ones I managed to record on video in those formative years (Logopolis, Revelation of the Daleks, Time Warrior episodes 3 and 4 and pretty much everything shown during the Silver jubilee). To be honest, the majority of new series episodes, I have only watched once or twice (with Rose being the three time exception).
