I have to agree Jamas - not a remarkable episode despite the very good 'splosions. The show ought to be ableto carry a pretty routine storyline like this, but in this instance it lets itself down with the characters in the team themselves. All very good for Gwen being the 'good cop' sympathising and (to a lesser extent) empathising with Beth, but it coems at the cost of the supposed new Happy Jack who is unaccountably now an out and out bully. I'd disagree that he's an 'encyclopaedia' - he doesn't name the species for a start, nor say where they're from - so he is still going into this thing blind as well. Perhaps that's all the more reason for acting as he does here, with an informed degree of urgency (the clock metaphorically ticking on other potential sleepers). But does he have to be such an ass about it? And for levity and jocularity we're given... Ianto?

No no, dear me, no!

So a muddled episode for me. made all the starker by my favourite team member now being... Owen.
