There's the sense that the characters have actually moved on in Jack's absence, and that without him they've become a better team for it. Nice to see some of the loose threads (Tosh fancying Owen, Ianto's stopwatch) are being picked up rather than dismissed. Could have done without Captain John in the end though - a bit too obviously bad.
