Ahhh, right, yes, very, very fun. Most enjoyable. Psychic cats. Cool.

Nice fun build up to the Endgame, and I'm not talking about England and the world cup.

All that said though, on having a rethink once the credits have rolled (and I don't know if this has been commented on elsewhere as this is my first internet stop post watching) but it is (in hindsight) very much a riff on some of the elements of Girl in the Fireplace. The antagonist is the ships control/repair looking for parts, (accessed through perception filters/mirrors, it's an unrequited love story, there are weird effects in time, the Doctor seem to be left stranded at one point, there is the "mind meld" with a human and both are rare stories where the Doctor is shown to drink.

Although as Peter notes the Vs fun and engageing wins out though.

What I would like to know though is what happened to the original flatmate, and who is that creepy painting on the wall?

Dave, if you liked Spaced (and I rather believe you did), you may find some pleasant diversions here. As for me (and you know my opinion of technical plotholes and inconsistencies versus fun and engaging storytelling) I had a ball. This is the first story of this years series that I'll be watched twice, although I do intend to catch up with a couple of others.

The Confidential also needs mention both for its hyperactive astronomer (I hope they were just cutting out every second frame to speed things up film-wise - I truly hope she's not that way in real life) and genuinely educational bent in the Greenwich sections. Bridge got a lot out of that, and didn't mind saying so.

Corden's great in this. But real life? First Sheridan Smith, now this Patrick Stewart thing... not cool, dude.

Oh, but top review there Al!

Sorry for no lack of comment here, but due to RL commitments I skipped this episode and have yet to catch up - looks like a doozy though.

Hope to have something more salient to say after the weekend. :)
