Fast Return – February 2013
Now with 100 per cent less ENZedding and Vastrabashing
ICE, ICE, BABY
Woo! So 2013 is to be the year of the Ice Warrior, after promotional images for the new series have now been released (and how relieved were we to see one from the bodice-line down and check that the designers didn’t do a Silurian on them) and of course the animated eponymous Troughton story. Sssuperb!
ADD IT UP
Latest word from Nick Briggs at fan gatherings is that Big Finish are in good talks with Matthew Waterhouse about… stuff. Does this mean Adric to grace audio Who adventures? Don’t laugh, don’t say it would never happen (remember Janet, remember Tom) and don’t say they couldnt make it work (remember Colin, remember Bonnie.) In all likelihood we’re not going to hear an Alzarian voice alongside those of Davison’s crew, but with Tom? Who else is there after Leela and K9? That’s right.
IT’S A SHAME ABOUT RAY
We’ve alredy done the obituary of course, but it bears noting that Cusick’s influence extended into the new series in more ways than just the Dalek design (even if he wasn’t crazy about the rivets in the gold Daleks). That Ood Sphere with its swooping curvy snow-frosted arches looked more than a little Cusick-y to us. And that’s a great thing righ there.
WE’RE GOING TO THE CHAPEL OF LOVE
Just us and Facebook, it seems, but in case you missed it Mr Jono Park – late of this parish, got married a couple of weeks ago to a lovely yuong woman who herself is no stranger to this blog, having appeared in earlier Jono in Wales posts. Many happy matrimonials from all of us at Zeus Plug Terraces, Jono!
SPEAKING IN TONGUES
Yes, it’s been everywhere, but watch it a couple of times and tell us it’s not full of ‘winne’ (as Geoffrey Chaucer still sayes). That BBC-made ‘foreign languages’ clip – is it us or does Smith in German and Italian just sound so right?
LOVE’S GREAT ADVENTURE
Who’s looking forward more to the docudrama than the actual series? I know I am.
BLINDED BY THE LIGHT?
Mind you, there’s more to November even than the doc-udrama and special, as FigBin’s Light at the End trailer shows. Magnificent!
NOVEMBER SPAWNED A MONSTER
Finally, after a few weeks of nervous twitching and nail-biting, it looks like this year will be a great one. Fingers crossed, eh?
